Breathing Coordination – A Tool for Life

Spring FlowersThe Breathing Coordination that I teach is a tool for life.  With it we are equipped to face the challenges of our day to day life with ease and confidence.  It does not matter if we are singers or professional speakers, each of us uses our voices daily.  Using Breath as a tool invigorates not only our voices, but affects our whole body, inside and out.  When the diaphram, the main muscle of respiration, is well-toned, our organs are stimulated to work more efficiently, we have more energy and we are more alert.

I feel my shoulders raising with tension; I pause and give them a verbal order to lower and release outward.  At the same time I consciously exhale, letting old stale air exit my being.  I wait for the fresh air to return.  Yet again, the breath of life calms my nervous system.  I am thankful that my years of study and of practicing The Art of Breathing (jessicawolfartofbreathing.com) have come to my rescue when I most want it.  Thus, it is with breath as a tool for life.

Recently, challenges have been taxing my ability to stay focused on goals. I find myself distracted with empathy for friends having difficulties and I want to make their lives easier. Have you ever experienced this?

Alas, my experience has shown I cannot change anything to make it all better for others, no matter how much I care and wish to do so.  Again, I stop; I remember that all I can do is listen, encourage and be here for them.  As I pause, I also realize that by using the tool of breath and stopping, I can dwell on being thankful for all that is good and continue to allow my shoulders to release and my torso expand with the breath of life.  I now am able to send postivie, calm energy out into the universe.  I become more aware of being in each moment and I am thankful for it.  In that moment in time, my authentic voice whispers to my heart and soul and I move forward one moment at a time.

  1. Love this Fay! You have given me remarkable advice when I’ve needed support. A simple return to the breath is usually enough to reset everything. The tension melts away.
    Thank you!,
